The IAA is committed to help young Assyriologists all over the world to strengthen their potential in their chosen profession. For instance, there are currently two awards that you are eligible to win! With these awards come nice prizes in the form of grants and publications, so do not hesitate to send in your work! The prizes will be awarded during a special ceremony at the RAI 2013 in Ghent.
The De Gruyter Dissertation Award
Starting in 2013, the IAA in conjunction with De Gruyter Inc., will award an annual €1,000-prize for the best Assyriological dissertation of the last two calendar years. Also, in it’s revised form, the winning dissertation will be published by De Gruyter into a book manuscript. The entry deadline to submit your work is MARCH 1st!
The award-committee for the De Gruyter-award consists of: P. Michalowski, S. Maul and E. von Dassow.
The IAA awards a €1,000-prize for the best first Assyriological article written after the Ph.D. There will also be a €250 prize for the runner-up. The entry deadline to submit your work is MARCH 1st!
The award-committee for the IAA-Prize consists of: M. Roaf, A. Archi, J. Tavernier and D.R. Frayne.
